there are five elements critical to safe driving to look out for: traction, suspension
and alignment, braking, fluids and vision. In terms of traction, worn tires are more likely to
hydroplane and more likely to lose breaking power, so check the depth of your tire treads.
Poorly maintained suspension and alignment will accelerate traction loss and can lead to
a loss of vehicle control during sudden turns or at higher speeds. Responsive brakes are
a key part of safe driving. Old or low brake fluid levels can ruin breaks, so have it checked
at every oil change. Any other leaking fluids are also a tell-tale sign that your car needs
a repair. While it may seem like common sense, being able to see is an important part of
safe driving, so replace your wipers every six to twelve months (depending on how much
wear and tear they have) and check the washer fluid monthly.
